§ Mr. GaitskellThe governing principles on which the regional petroleum officers work are set out in the answers to the first five questions in a leaflet on petrol rationing for private motor cars and motor cycles, issued by my Department124W in January of this year, of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy. As he will see, the regional petroleum offices are instructed both as to the purposes for which allowances may be made and as to the maximum allowances which may be made for certain purposes.
