§ 122. Mr. C. S. Taylorasked the Minister of Fuel and Power what national bodies have been invited to nominate representatives for the consultative councils to be set up under the Electricity Act, 1947.
§ Mr. GaitskellFollowing is the. information. The following bodies have been asked to submit nominations for the Consultative Councils to be set up in England and Wales under the Electricity Act, 1947:
- (i) Under Section 7 (2) (a) of the Electricity Act, 1947.
- County Councils Association
- Association of Muncipal Corporations.
- Urban District Councils Association.
- Rural District Councils Association.
- London County Council.
- City of London Corporation.
- Metropolitan Boroughs Standing Joint Committee.
- (ii) Under Section 7 (2) (b) of the Electricity Act, 1947.
- Federation of British Industries.
- National Union of Manufacturers.
- Association of British Chambers of Commerce.
- Parliamentary Committee of the Cooperative Congress.
- Trade Union Congress.
- Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (covering National Farmers' Union, Central Landowners' Association, National Union of Agricultural Workers, Transport and Workers' Union (Agricultural> Section)).
- Institution of Electrical Engineers.
- Electrical Association of Women.
- National Council of Women of Great Britain.
- National Federation of Women's Institutes.
- Women's Voluntary Services.
- Standing Joint Committee of Working Women's Organisations.
With regard to the two Consultative Councils to be set up by me in Southeast and South-west Scotland corresponding Scottish bodies have submitted nominations.
