§ Mr. Rees-WilliamsA census of the population of Palestine has been taken on only two occasions, in 1922 and in 1931. The estimated figures for the Jewish population on the dates mentioned by the hon. Member are as follows: 1923–89,000; 1938–411,000; 1948–640,000.
