§ 9. Mr. Lipsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will grant a visa to a girl, aged 16, of whose name he has been informed, to come from Palestine to a boarding school in this country in which she has been offered a vacancy.
§ Mr. EdeNormally no objection is offered to foreigners coming to this country for education purposes, but this is dependent upon it being possible for the foreigner to leave this country when the period of study is over. In the case of Palestinians or "stateless" persons living in Palestine this cannot at the moment be guaranteed, and I am sorry that I cannot authorise the grant of facilities in this case.
