HC Deb 08 July 1948 vol 453 c48W
65. Mr. Sargood

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, as a result of the findings of the inquiry into the fire at the premises of Alfred Harris & Company, Ltd., of Townsend Terrace, Richmond, Surrey, on 4th September, 1947, he proposes to make any new regulations to control the storage of scrap celluloid in order to minimise the risk of fire.

Mr. Ede

This report indicates that there is need to consider the problem of the celluloid risk on a basis wider than that of the particular fire at Richmond, and I am in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service on the matter.
