45. Mr. Mainwaring

asked the Minister of Labour what is the cause of the strike that now holds up progress upon factories being constructed for Welsh estates; and whether he contemplates initiating some efforts to bring it to an end.

Mr. Isaacs

The strike followed the discharge of certain workmen by a firm and it later extended as a result of sympathetic action. I am informed that a settlement has now been reached between the firm and the union concerned in the discharges, and that this will enable work to be resumed generally.
