§ 20. Mr. Orbachasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he has any statement to make on the granting of a franchise for the laying of a new pipeline from Iraq to Haifa.
§ Mr. MayhewThere is no question of granting a concession for the laying of a new pipeline. Negotiations are, however, in progress between the Palestine Government and the Iraq Petroleum Company for the grant of permission to the Company to bring oil through their existing pipeline from the area covered by a concession recently granted them in Transjordan and from two new areas in Iraq.
