HC Deb 11 November 1947 vol 444 c41W
55. Wing-Commander Robinson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in regard to his announcement on 3rd July, 1947, that 20 million dollars had been earned by Empire tin producers from the conclusion of Lend-Lease to the end of June, 1947, he can now give an estimate of future earnings from this source for the second half of 1947 and for the years 1948 and 1949, respectively; and what assistance is being given by the Treasury in order to achieve any expansion of dollar earnings from this source.

Mr. Dalton

I cannot give any reliable estimate of future earnings but 16 million dollars were earned during the four months ended October: I have received no request for financial assistance from this industry.
