HC Deb 11 November 1947 vol 444 c51W
Mr. D. L. Williams

asked the President of the Board of Trade what progress is being made with the factories for disabled miners in South Wales; how many of them are ready for occupation; and how many have been allocated to industrialists.

Mr. Belcher

The two factories at Llwynypia are nearing completion. The roof is on at the Ponthenry and Aberbargoed factories and internal work is proceeding. Roofing is in progress at Ammanford, Tumble and Garnant and the steel work is nearly finished at Aberdare. At Ferndale steel for one of the factories is on the site and the steel for the other is now available. One factory at Llwynypia has been allocated to a manufacturer and should be occupied in December. Applications for five of the other factories are under consideration.
