§ Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Agriculture if he will now consider the payment of quality premiums for milk on a basis of butter-fat content, having regard to the superiority in actual food value of richer milk and the great benefits derived from the payment of premiums for T.T. milk.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsI am fully aware of the encouragement given to the production of T.T. milk by the payment of premiums, and also of the desirability of improving the compositional standard of the milk supply. The question of paying producers differential prices for milk according to its butter-fat or total solids content will be examined when manpower and other circumstances are more favourable.
