HC Deb 10 November 1947 vol 444 cc28-9W
Mr. Asterley Jones

asked the Minister of Education whether he is aware of the concern of the people of Wymondley near Hitchin, Herts, at his decision that the erection of a new county primary school in that parish shall not be proceeded with in 1948; and whether he will reconsider his decision.

Mr. Tomlinson

I am aware of the concern of the people of Wymondley about this matter and I have received a petition from the local Parent-Teacher Association. I realise the unsatisfactory condition of the existing school premises, but in present circumstances I cannot see my way to include the erection of new premises in the School Building Programme for 1948.
