§ Mr. Medlicottasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that the Great Western Railway have a fine record in the matter of the prevention of collisions during fog; and whether he is satisfied that the other four main railways are using equipment and methods that are as effective as those of the Great Western Railway.
§ Mr. CallaghanThe answer to the first" part of the Question is, "Yes, Sir." Following an accident at Bourne End in 1945 the Railway Companies were asked to submit proposals for introducing similar equipment on main lines having regard to other signalling development. Their Report is expected shortly.
