asked the Minister of Transport the number of locomotives and wagons out of service and awaiting repair on the four main line railways at the nearest convenient date.

Mr. Callaghan

At 6th September the number of locomotives out of service and awaiting repairs was 3,815. The corresponding figure at nth October for wagons, including privately-owned requisitioned stock, was 199,168.
