§ 81. Mr. Bossomasked the Minister of Transport if he is granting any special priority or making special provisions for the distribution of manures and seed potatoes to the farmers of Kent on account of the recent bad weather.
§ Mr. BarnesYes, Sir. I have asked the railways to free the movement of seed potatoes from embargoes, and to pay special attention to the supply of wagons for this traffic. It is not yet possible to exempt fertilisers from embargoes, but every effort is being made to move as much as possible. I have taken steps to ensure that sufficient shipping is available to cover coastwise movements, and road vehicles will be used to supplement rail and water, if necessary.
