§ 80. Brigadier Petoasked the Minister of Transport if he will give an assurance that no further cuts will be made to transport facilities, already inadequate, serving North-west Devon, in view of the fact that the tourist season during the summer months is of such importance to holiday resorts in that area.
§ Mr. BarnesI can give no assurances that particular train services will not have to be reduced in order to save coal consumption, but any necessary reductions will be made as fairly as possible. Road transport services in North Devon have been increased substantially since the end142W of the war, and I know of no proposal to reduce them.
