HC Deb 11 March 1947 vol 434 c149W
Mr. N. Macpherson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when it is intended that the Central Hotel, Annan, Dumfriesshire, derequisitioned some months ago, shall be reopened by the Carlisle and Gretna State Management.

Mr. Westwood

It is not possible meantime to give an exact date for the reopening of this hotel, but it will be reopened as soon as arrangements can be made to carry out the necessary repairs and renovation. Considerable difficulties have been caused by shortages of materials and the available contractors being fully occupied by local housing work.
