HC Deb 04 March 1947 vol 434 c42W
86. Mr. Wyatt

asked the Secretary of State for War why 14718348 Private Adderley, A.H., has been under close arrest for over 30 days and has been informed that his court martial on a charge of 4½ days' absence without leave will not take place for another five or six weeks.

Mr. Bellenger

I am obtaining a report on this case and will communicate with my hon. Friend as soon as this is available.

90. Mrs. Mann

asked the Secretary of State for War when the hon. Member for Coatbridge can expect a reply to the complaint and correspondence sent three months ago concerning the Army officer who acts for the insurance company and terminated the compensation payable to her constituent, Mr. Allan Brown.

Mr. Bellenger

I hope to write to my hon. Friend about this matter very shortly.

94. Mrs. Mann

asked the Secretary of State for War why pressure is being used to get T/14128860 Driver C. O'Hare, H.Q. Platoon, 578 Company, R.A.S.C., C. (M.)T., Reed Hail Camp, Colchester, to confess to an alleged theft of parcels.

Mr. Bellenger

My information is that this soldier has not been threatened at any time in connection with the inquiries into loss of registered mail in his unit.
