88. Mr. Baldwinasked the Secretary of State for War what reply he has sent to the representations made to him by the female civilian employees of his Department in East Africa with regard to the conditions of their employment.

It has been decided to grant locally recruited female clerks in the employment of the War Department in East Africa certain concessions in regard to leave. The conditions are under urgent consideration and I hope they will be settled very shortly.
