§ Mr. F. MarshallThe majority of London squares are in private ownership and were never officially open to the public. Clause III (3) of the Town and Country Planning Bill now before Parliament would empower Metropolitan Boroughs, with the consent of the Minister of Health, to acquire any land in the borough for use as public open space and it will be possible to acquire some of the London squares under this provision.
