§ 96. Mr. Pickthornasked the Minister of Education what training facilities are available to uncertified teachers and in what way these differ from those available to new entrants into the teaching profession.
§ Miss WilkinsonThe arrangements under which uncertificated teachers with not less than five years' service may be admitted to a special one-year course of training are set out in Circular 114, a copy of which I am sending to the hon. Member. It is hoped to make a start with these courses in the autumn of this year. Uncertificated teachers may also apply for admission to the normal two-year course of training, and for those with less than five years' teaching service this course is still considered appropriate.
