Mr. Watkinsasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that a small tree, pyrus minima, found near Craig-y-Castell and Craig-y-Cilian, above Llangynidr, Breconshire, is in danger of being destroyed as the results of mortar practice; and if he will take steps to save this tree, the only one of its kind in this country and, possibly, the world.
§ Mr. BellengerThe existence of this tree was only brought to my notice a few days ago. Instructions have been issued that the Craig, in which the tree is situated, is not to be used for mortar firing practice.
