§ Mr. Osborneasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether the National Coal Board is carrying out the arrangements for the supply of free or cheap coal to miners, entered into between the miners' union and the former coalowners; the amount of such coal which should have been delivered in January, 1947, and the amount actually delivered.
§ Mr. ShinwellThe answer to the first part of the Question is "Yes, Sir." I have no information as to the quantity of free or cheap coal which should have been delivered to miners in January, 1947, but 431,000 tons of such coal was actually delivered in the four weeks ended 25th January.
