29. Mr. M. Lindsay

asked the Secretary of State for War why Class A tradesmen in the Royal Signals in Group 48, who have already served 42 years, are having their demobilisation deferred.

Mr. Bellenger

Group 48 is due to be released between 27th March and 21st April. No compulsory deferments, there- fore, can yet have been authorised. I hope that there will be no need for such deferments in Group 48.
