§ 100. Sir T. Mooreasked the Under-Secretary of State for Burma whether he is aware that the Burmese leader, Aung San, was formerly a collaborator with the Japanese; and whether this fact was taken into consideration when he was invited to consult with His Majesty's Government on the future Constitution of Burma.
§ Mr. A. HendersonYes, Sir, it is true that Aung San was the leader of the Burma Independence Army in the early stages of the Japanese occupation, but he made contact with the Allies as early as the end of 1943, and thereafter he and his movement were working in the interests of the Allies.
