HC Deb 03 February 1947 vol 432 cc297-8W
Mr. Granville

asked the Minister of Health what plans have been inaugurated to improve the supply of drinking water to the Hertismere district of Suffolk.

Mr. Bevan

A comprehensive scheme is being prepared for those parts of the district at present without a piped supply of water. Schemes are under consideration for extensions of mains which will eventually be merged with the compre- hensive scheme but which can in the meantime be served by existing sources. Two such extensions have already been carried out, seven others have been approved and further extensions estimated to cost £100,000 are in preparation.
