HC Deb 03 February 1947 vol 432 cc286-7W
91. Mr. Henderson Stewart

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the complaints from the Fife fishing ports regarding the delays in delivering fish consigned from Fife to London, Glasgow and other centres; and what action he is taking in the matter.

Mr. Barnes

No complaints have been made to my Department about delays to this traffic. I am informed that delay has occurred because the fish has not been handed to the railway company till late in the evening. Arrangements have now been made with the company for the fish to be loaded sufficiently early to be forwarded the same night.
