HC Deb 19 December 1947 vol 445 c455W
Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyre

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, what length of leave of absence is granted to civil servants, and on what conditions, when as officials of a recognised association they wish to devote themselves to work of that association.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

Up to 30 days a year with pay (less a deduction, intended broadly to cover substitution cost) and exceptionally more without pay. In addition, several civil servants have been given leave without pay for a year or longer when they have been on trial for full-time staff association appointments.
