asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many women have been charged with soliciting or prostitution in the Metropolitan police area for the past 12 months compared with the previous 12 months.

For the period 1st January to 30th November, 1947, the number was 4,748, and for the corresponding period in 1946, 4,135.
