HC Deb 28 October 1946 vol 428 c39W
3. Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Supply if he will ensure that the working party for the motorcar industry will have before them full details of the number of different models being produced and planned for the future and of the number of units of each such model.

Mr. Wilmot

Information about the number of models now being produced and the total output together with such information as is available regarding future developments is before the National Advisory Council for the motor manufacturing industry.

5. Dr. Segal

asked the Minister of Supply when the report of the National Advisory Council of the motor-manufacturing industry is likely to be issued; and whether it will be made available for general circulation.

Mr. Wilmot

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for East Coventry (Mr. Crossman) on 15th July.

7. Dr. Segal

asked the Minister of Supply whether the National Advisory Council of the motor-manufacturing industry will be asked the consider the possibilities of the mass-production of a people's motorcar in this country to sell at a retail price of less than £200.

Mr. Wilmot

I have asked the council to consider how the large scale production of low cost cars can best be promoted.
