§ Mr. Stokes
asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will raise the price of mutton by 3d. per lb. so as to ensure the preservation of flocks of black-faced Suffolk sheep which, at today's prices, are rapidly being annihilated.
§ Mr. T. Williams
No, Sir. I do not agree that flocks of black-faced Suffolk sheep are rapidly being annihilated; I see no justification for raising the price of all mutton in order to stimulate the rearing140W of a particular breed of sheep; and in any case I am not prepared to review the prices of particular farm products in between the reviews for which provision is made in the agreed procedure.
