§ 108. Mr. J. Lewisasked the Minister of Transport what representations he has received from the Road Haulage Association to impose statutory rates for the carriage of goods; and what answer he has made.
§ Mr. BarnesMy hon. Friend may be referring to the memorandum issued in July last by the main line railways and the Road Haulage Association, which contemplated a road rates schedule to be settled by a road-rail tribunal. The memorandum in which this proposal was included dealt with the general question of coordination of road and rail freight transport, for which the Government has other plans.
