HC Deb 14 May 1946 vol 422 cc188-9W
129. Mrs. Ayrton Gould

asked the Minister of Labour how many men over 55 years of age have been unemployed for more than two months; how many of them are unable to get work because of their age; and what steps he is taking to see that these older men get jobs.

Mr. Ness Edwards:

The information asked for in the first and second parts of the Question is not available, but it is proposed to obtain statistical returns which will show whether there is abnormal long term unemployment among older men.
