asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will consider an inquiry into the profits of football pools, with a view to special taxation.

Mr. Dalton:

No, Sir. Persons carrying on football pools are subject to the existing taxes on business profits, and the Death Duties at the finish, and I see no particular reason for picking them out for special taxation.
