asked the Prime Minister whether His Majesty's Government have accepted the invitation to send observers to witness the atomic bomb tests in the Pacific; and whether he will state the names of the observers appointed.

Yes, Sir. The United States Government have invited the Governments represented on the Atomic Energy Commission to send two observers each to witness the atomic bomb tests. His Majesty's Government have accepted this invitation and have appointed as observers the hon. Member for Uxbridge (Mr. Beswick) and the hon. and gallant Member for Chelsea (Commander Noble).
