Wakefieldasked the Minister of Food why some of the proceeds of the U.S. Loan are to be spent in purchasing pilchards from the U.S.A., in view of the abundance and variety of fish obtainable from other parts of the world and in particular from around our own shores without dollar expenditure.
§ Mr. StracheySupplies are being purchased from the United States to supplement our home produced supplies which together with imports from other countries are totally inadequate for our requirements.
