asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is yet able to make a further statement on the possibility of legislation being in troduced to enable British women to retain their nationality on marriage to other nationals if they so desire.

Mr. Ede:

No, Sir. Before any change in the law is made it is essential that there should be consultation with the Dominions, and it may be some time before that can be arranged.
