HC Deb 21 February 1946 vol 419 c279W
Mr. O'Brien

asked the Minister of Labour what reply he has made to the application for a German, named Furtwangler, to be permitted to conduct a London orchestra.

Mr. Ede:

I have been asked to reply. No application has yet been made for a visa, and before authorising admission to this country I should have to be satisfied that there were strong grounds for a visit by this German national.
