§ Sir C. Edwardsasked the Undersecretary of State for Air whether he has considered complaints from 167 A.M.E.S., R.A.F., India Command; and whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction in that unit over demobilisation and repatriation, all the more because they have nothing useful to do; that they were advised by the officer commanding to raise these matters with their respective Members; and when these men are likely to be released.
§ Mr. StracheyThis is a new and isolated small unit which should have plenty of work to do in setting up a radar station. I am not aware that complaints have been made from the unit, and the command have already taken special steps for the welfare of these airmen, whose demobilisation or repatriation is certainly not delayed beyond their normal turn. I have not yet received a report on the suggestion that the men were advised to raise these matters with hon. Members, but I will write to my right hon. Friend on this point as soon as possible.
