HC Deb 04 December 1946 vol 431 c104W
107. Mr. Sargood

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether he is aware that, on 20th November, 1946, a number of postal packages bearing the postmark "December, 1945," were delivered in the Epsom district of Surrey, including a batch of letters addressed to the Horton E.M.S. hospital; and what is the reason for this delay.

Mr. Burke

Yes, Sir. I very much regret that by an inexcusable mistake the bag containing these letters was not fully emptied when it was received during the period of Christmas pressure last year and the letters were only discovered when the stored bags were brought out for use during the coming Christmas period.
