HC Deb 04 December 1946 vol 431 c83W
78. Professor Savory

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that Janusz Kazimierczak has been arrested in Warsaw for having acted as interpreter to Derek Selby, the correspondent of the "Sunday Times," who was expelled from Poland on 31st October in violation of the Potsdam Agreement; and what action he is taking.

Mr. McNeil

I am aware of this arrest. This is not the first case of its kind, and I am concerned that such practices should not have, among other consequences, the effect of restricting the ability of British journalists in Poland to provide the public with accurate news from that country.
