§ Mr. TomlinsonHis Majesty's Government have decided that an official residence should be provided for the Foreign Secretary in order that he should be able to receive and entertain foreign visitors appropriately. No. 1 Carlton Gardens, the property of the Commissioners of Crown Lands, has been chosen for this purpose. My Department is undertaking the necessary adaptations and furnishing to provide living accommodation for the Foreign Secretary on the upper floors, and reception rooms on the lower floors for official entertaining.
