§ 5. Colonel J. R. H. Hutchisonasked the President of the Board of Trade why the sale of wooden and upholstered utility furniture may be effected by Scottish manufacturers in Scotland only, whereas equivalent manufacturers in the North of England can supply not only their own area but Scotland also.
§ Mr. Belcher:The reason for this is that there is still a shortage of utility furniture in Scotland. As long as this continues, it will be necessary to ask the Scottish manufacturers to concentrate their efforts towards meeting Scottish demands.
