Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Minister of Education whether she will recommend the observance of animals' welfare week to all schools under her jurisdiction during May of this year; and if she will call attention to those concerned that it is for the purpose of promoting the well being of all animals and birds and not merely for the services they render to mankind.
§ Miss Wilkinson:No, Sir. I do not think that it would be wise to modify the normal life and curriculum of the schools by the observance of a special week for this purpose, which is best served within the framework of the general social and moral training of the school.
