§ Mr. Haydn Daviesasked the Minister of Education what action she proposes to take to ensure that the war service of schoolmasters, trained under the Emergency Training Scheme, will rank as contributory service for the purposes of the Teachers (Superannuation) Acts and as service qualifying for increments on the Burnham scales of salaries.
§ Miss WilkinsonIt would be contrary to the principles of the Teachers (Superannuation) Acts to provide for war service undertaken by a person who, at the time, was neither a teacher nor student of a recognized Training College to be treated as contributory service. In the case of teachers trained under the Emergency Training Scheme, account will be taken of their war service in determining their appropriate position on the Burnham scales of salary.
