HC Deb 09 October 1945 vol 414 cc80-1W
Mr. Edgar Granville

asked the Minister of Health if he will now state his policy with regard to the extension of increased supplies of drinking water and housing for the rural areas..

Mr. Bevan

It is the policy of the Government that rural water needs should be met as quickly as possible. Rural authorities should proceed actively with the preparation and submission of their schemes for examination and approval by me so that work on them may proceed as soon as the labour situation will permit. I intend shortly to make a general statement on the whole question of the Government's housing policy, and I would ask my hon. Friend to await that statement.
