Mr. J. McKay

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India if he is aware that complaints are made by the parents of men in the Sokoto Company, Base Training Unit, R.W.A.A.F./6, Dhond, India Command, about the loss of letters in transit; that only one out of five is reaching the men in question; that it takes the mail six and seven days to reach the camp from Bombay, which is only 10 miles away; and will he inquire into the loss of letters and the delay that is taking place with a view to providing a remedy.

Mr. A. Henderson

I was not aware that such complaints have been made. 1 am, however, arranging for the matter to be investigated and will communcate with my hon. Friend as soon as a report is received.
