HC Deb 12 November 1945 vol 415 c1886W
Commander Maitland

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he will now make a statement regarding the final disposal of the Italian fleet; and whether he will give any indication of the function it is performing at the present time.

Mr. W. Edwards

The final disposal of the Italian Fleet is one of the subjects for the Peace Treaty with Italy, the terms of which have still to be settled. I am not therefore, in a position to make a statement. Meanwhile, the Italian Fleet is being employed to the best advantage in transport and other duties under the supervision of the Allied authorities.
