HC Deb 12 November 1945 vol 415 cc1885-6W
Major Bruce

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation whether, in considering the formation of the two additional corporations and in reviewing plans for the civil air service as a whole, due weight will be given to the proposals placed before him for the development of Langstone Harbour, Portsmouth, as a combined marine and land terminal airport, particulars of which he already has and upon which the hon. and gallant Member for North Portsmouth wrote him on 16th October.

Mr. Ivor Thomas

As my Noble Friend informed my hon. and gallant Friend in reply to his letter of 16th October, the need for additional marine airports de- pends on the outcome of the study, now in progress, of the future development and use of the flying boat. If the results of such study are favourable to the flying boat, the adoption of the Langstone Harbour scheme will, among others, receive full consideration.
