Lieut.-Colonel Bromley Davenportasked the Minister of Health (1) how many local authorities are giving a preference to ex-Servicemen in the provision of housing accommodation; and what advice his Department has tendered in the matter;
(2) whether he will consider legislation to secure some preference for ex-Servicemen in the allocation of housing accommodation.
§ Mr. BevanThe selection of tenants in relation to the urgency of their needs is a matter for the local authority. I have given advice to them in a circular, of which I will send the hon. and gallant Member a copy.
