Major Macphersonasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the deferment of release of officers in C.M.F. in groups 22 and upwards, the rule whereby no officer under Group 25 is eligible for L.I.A.P. has been lifted.
§ Mr. LawsonI would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply I gave on 30th October to questions by the hon. Member for Ripon (Mr. York) and the hon. and gallant Members for Grimsby (Major Younger) and Hornsey (CaptainGammans). The real criterion in these cases is the length of time before repatriation from overseas, whether for release or for home posting. If an officer is being repatriated within a few months he is not granted home leave in the meantime.
